Description: Go4B'rque will meet under the direction of Philip Redfern to tackle Handel's Music for the Royal Fireworks. This piece was originally written for a large wind band ensemble, as apparently King George preferred winds and percussion and hoped there would be ‘no fiddles’, so Handel excluded the strings against his own will for the
first performance! Here in 2026 we are welcoming string players but we’d like as many oboes and bassoons as we can muster, so please pass this on to your woodwind friends.
