Byrd recorder workshop:a great success!
The EMFS recorder workshop on 3rd March was a great success, with 30 players attending from east, west and north Scotland. Lynne Hope was an excellent tutor, taking us gently through the intricancies of Byrd's music and the challenges of reading in semibreves! Several Scottish Recorder Orchestra players had brought the "big boys" - great and contrabass recorders - which allowed us to play at both 4 and 8 ft - a lovely sonorous sound! Thanks to all who came and made the day so enjoyable, but special thanks to Lynne for her preparation and presentation of the day. We are already planning the next one - watch this space!
